[12/01/05] Hard times in Mercy Ships land

Please say a prayer for my crewmates on the Africa Mercy and Anastasis. It was announcced a few weeks ago that the Anastasis will be permanently retired at the end of it's field service in Liberia. All Anastasis crew were given the option of transferring to the new ship, the Africa Mercy. The two ships will meet up next June in Ghana to transfer people and equipment. This week everyone is getting their letters of acceptance, or rejection. There's not room on the Africa Mercy for everyone. Some people who have been on the Anastasis for years or were planning on living there for years will have to make other plans. And some people who have been serving on the Africa Mercy are getting bumped by Anastasis people with more seniority. I don't envy the people who have to make these decisions. I know they're being as fair as possible, but there's a lot of people feeling lots of feelings about the tough situation they're in. If you can relate to that "What the heck am I supposed to do, God?" feeling, please keep them in your prayers.
