Christmas past

I love old photos. Strong family 1953 . . . What were they thinking? What were they drinking? What is up with that tree? So many possibilities.

Hi, Sweets;
The posed picture is in front of a frame and picture I still love...it is in the downstairs hall.

The other shot is from a Christmas party in the neighborhood...someone else's house. "Tinsel," thin strips of aluminum foil, was popular for trees. Some people threw it on, some covered the tree, and my parents were meticulous about it...only so much per branch, all of it had to hang free, etc., etc.
Everyone smoked, and people drank alcoholic party drinks, so what is in the glass is ? What is neat to me is how connected people were in all neighborhoods...it was only 9 years after the WWII horrors. Pa
